LUKOIL LUBRICANTS PLANT, 100,000 TPY
LUKOIL Lubricants Central Asia LLP decided to establish a new company, the Lubricants Plant in Almaty, in order to satisfy the growing lubricant demand in the markets of the Central Asia region.
The construction of the lubricants plant producing lube oils from the ready-made components began in 2016. The commissioning of the plant was initially planned for 2018, but later the startup was shifted to the second quarter of 2019 due to the change of the contractor.
The plant construction site is located in the village of Baiserke of the Ili district of the Almaty region. The area of the construction site is 50.2 hectares, the area within the battery limit is 10.8954 hectares. The planned capacity of the plant will be 100 thousand tons per year with possible capacity extension up to 130 thousand tons per year.
The design incorporates the following facilities to ensure full functioning of the plant:
- Office building
- Process building
- Boiler station
- Base oil tank farm
- Loading and unloading racks
- Treatment facilities
- Pump station
- Water supply wells
The design incorporates high level of process automation and mechanization. Main process equipment and process control and monitoring systems are supplied by Fluid Solutions (Germany) in compliance with the warranties set forth in the contract with LUKOIL Lubricants Central Asia LLP. Lube oil production process adopted by Fluid Solutions conforms to the up-to-date international standards in terms of both production performance and equipment capacity.

The company gives pride of place to the sectoral science and the development of advanced oils and additives production technologies. The oils and lubricants are produced by 7 own production facilities, 2 joint ventures and 24 engaged plants in Russia, Belarus, Austria, Finland, Romania and Turkey.
